Pretty Maids All in a Row

So here are the details of the wedding...The nitty gritty of what David and I have been so entangled with since May. I don't want to give away too many details, but I will at least fill you in on some major pieces!

We have chosen to do an early afternoon wedding. I think David and I really want to have a classy wedding, but one that people feel like they can loosen up their collar just a bit. Here is the website for the reception site if you want to take a peek. The colors are black and white, with splashes of pink. My ladies are wearing black, taffeta tea-length dresses with a pink sash around the waist, and the gentlemen are sporting black tuxedos with pink ties, made by our talented Aunt Jeanette. I'm not going to spill about my dress...just in case David happens to read this! The flowers used for decorations are white, with all different types. The girls are carrying roses that are white but turn to pink at the tip. The guys are sporting those same roses.

Here is the cast. If you do not know them already, we hope you take a chance to get to meet them. They are some of the best friends we have (including siblings!), and David and I are sure that you all will think they are great too. So here's the "Dirty Dozen": Kristen Green (Maid of Honor), Amy Eisenson (Matron of Honor), Robin Berry, Jessica Drumm, Shana Russell, and Natasha Rodriguez. Rob Jones (Best Man), Allen Jerkins, Michael Byrd, Scott Childs, Nate Wiewora, and Paul Morphy. Michael Byrd's daughter, Selena, is our flower girl. Everyone will adore her! Our dear friend and mentor, Monty Stark, will be marrying us.

All the large things are done. We have a photographer that we are very excited about. We interviewed with several people, but within just a few minutes with this gentleman we knew he was what we wanted. My Aunt Cynthia and her catering partner are catering the event. She's a great southern cook, so get ready for some tasty food! Our cake is going to be great...I'm very excited to see how it turns out. I didn't want a traditional white cake, so be prepared for a little color.

We are meeting with a DJ in a week to work on entertainment for the reception. Our invitations should arrive at my house this Wednesday! We will be getting those out in the next few weeks. David and I registered for gifts at Bed, Bath & Beyond (in store or online!) and Crate & Barrel.

So what's next? It looks like showers are in our forecast (you know, the fun ones!). We're off to Mississippi on October 6th, then we come back and have another shower on the 15th in Tallahassee, then travel to Gainesville for my hometown shower on November 5th. It will keep us busy, but we are enjoying it!

Ho-tel, Mo-tel, Holiday Inn

If you've been scratching your heads over hotel accomodations for the weekend of the wedding, we apologize. Rob has been hard at work collecting bids and helping us secure rooms for everyone who has a need. The sum-total of his efforts is a reservation block for the Childs/Ward Wedding at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 3333 Thomasville Road.

The rooms are on hold until December 15th, but why wait? Director of Sales Cheryl Horne has been wonderful to work with. Call 850.385.3553 and ask for her by name. She will assist you in making all the necessary reservations. The length of your stay is negotiable from 2-4 days, but must include Friday and Saturday to receive the $79.00 rate per night. If you choose to reserve online, you may use the link, but you'll need to enter CWW as the Group/Convention Code under the Special Accounts section to receive the approved rate.

Also, if you do not have a Hilton HHonors account, you may choose to sign up for one as part of your reservation process. If you don't plan on using it in the future, you could earn points this one time and request a certificate transferring your points to us. When you make reservations, have your HHonors number handy and begin collecting points. After the weekend, you can call the HHonors program and request those points be sent to us in the form of a certificate. Those points will be transferred to us and we will be able to use them for future travel. Our account is in David's name and the number is 961754985.
